About Us
SAHYOG is a non-profit, charitable trust setup to help the poor people who have very little means to support themselves meet medical expenses towards treatment of major illnesses like cancer or to undergo major surgeries. We take one patient at a time and hope to involve all kind-hearted souls who are looking for ways to ‘give back to society’. We also intend doing our bit in the field of education in whatever little ways that we can to spread the light of knowledge. We are a group of trustees who believe ‘We can make the change we want to see’, located in Bangalore, India.
Donations are eligible for exemption under Sec.80G of IT Act.
SAHYOG was born out of a small spark that one of the blood donors lit in the year 2008. 8-year-old Mahesh, the son of a poor maid was diagnosed of blood cancer and admitted to the Kidwai Memorial Hospital, Bangalore. Thanks to the tens of kind-hearted well-wishers who helped this kid with money, blood, physical and moral support, today the kid is under remission and is attending school. He will be under observation for another 2 years to be labelled ‘cured’ but it is nice to see him out of the ‘danger zone’ and we hope with the prayers of so many, he will live a long life. This inspired us to register SAHYOG, a charitable trust to see many more such children, as well as adults belonging to the poorest of the poor classes, who may be able to get treated for serious illnesses, if only they get financial aid.
